Marvel at the beauty of the Coruña coastline on this Finisterre and Costa da Morte Tour, departing from Santiago de Compostela. You will tour the Costa da Morte, ancient Celtic abode, an area of deserted beaches, inlets, cliffs and a long history of shipwrecks behind it. And we will visit Cabo de Finisterre, a spectacular enclave.
Leaving Santiago, our first stop will be in Pontemaceira, where we will learn the stories of this magical place, the usual stop for pilgrims on their journey to the End of the Earth.
We will continue touring the Costa da Morte to take the second stop in a very special place: the Ézaro Waterfall. Here we will take a walk along the Xallas River until we reach its mouth and appreciate its beautiful waterfall, being the only river in Europe that cascades directly into the sea. From its viewpoints we can contemplate wonderful views of this natural setting. Take advantage of taking souvenir photos!
On the way to Muxia we will see the 16th century San Martiño de Ozon Horreo. We will arrive at Muxia, home to the Virxe da Barca sanctuary, where thousands of faithful gather each year in one of the most important pilgrimages in Galicia. Here you will discover a surprising history of the Camino de Santiago and we will have free time to eat.
We will continue towards Cape of Finisterre, the second most visited place in Galicia after the Cathedral of Santiago, a place where it was thought for centuries that it was the end of the world and the gateway to the Beyond. We will stop to contemplate the Lighthouse of Finisterre, and from its viewpoints we will see the breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Finally, we will make the journey back to Santiago de Compostela along the Galician coast.
